British polymath Fred again.. has announced the released of his third album, with Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022) set to arrive on 28th October.

The forthcoming record will serve as the latest entry in Fred again..’s Actual Life trilogy, which which began in April 2021 with Actual Life (April 14 – December 17, 2020) and continued just seven months later with Actual Life 2 (February 2 – October 15, 2021).

On his 2021 debut, Fred again.. managed to curate an impressively and uniquely intimate approach to production, turning his craft into something akin to a personal diary through the use of voice notes from friends, videos found while scrolling on Instagram, and samples from important records in his life.

As such, the resulting albums have since turned into something similar to a scrapbook, hallmarking all the events that make up the titular timeframes of his life, and being celebrated for the immersive, cathartic, and wholly relatable experiences they have provided listeners along the way.

In recent months, Fred again.. has shared a number of new singles as part of his ongoing USB playlist series, which included the Swedish House Mafia collaboration, Future-featuring ‘Turn On The Lights again..’ from July, and ‘Jungle’, which was released in June. Now though, he’s unveiled his latest track, ‘Danielle (smile on my face)’, as the first taster of his forthcoming record, which in turn follows on from July’s viral Boiler Room set.

Like his previous work, the new single sees Fred again.. once again utilising and sampling the music that has soundtracked his life. In this case, he’s looked towards 070 Shake’s ‘Nice To Have’, which he describes as his most listened-to song for the year, and the one song that has soundtracked his titular “actual life” the most throughout 2022.
